As a member of the BSGC you join past & current generations of golf enthusiasts in learning, developing and advancing the game of golf in our community. In agreement with Fairmont, our Club has a maximum of 200 Adult and Intermediate members, along with an active Juniors program to develop future generations of golfers. Club members enjoy some very unique benefits, however your membership in the club also brings with it some responsibilities, to amongst other things: respect the game of golf, respect the course, and respect fellow members, guest and public players. Together with Fairmont we take pride in ensuring the sustainability of our environment, our facilities and equipment, and the volunteers and staff involved in operating the club and the course.

Value of Membership

There is significant Value in becoming a BSGC Member! You have access to the following privileges and unique pricing arrangements negotiated by the Club with the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course owners.

  • Full access to both the Stanley Thompson 18 and Tunnel 9 courses with up to 7-Day advanced booking privileges through the Fairmont Banff Springs Member Booking Portal.

  • Full access to all practice facilities including driving range, putting, chipping/pitching and sand practice zones.

  • Unlimited (or 10-Pass) number of round access on the Stanley Thompson 18 course (based upon your Green Fee Pass paid); plus unlimited play on the Tunnel 9 course. There is a limited number of members with these same privileges.

  • Unlimited participation in Men’s League, Ladies’ League, Mixed League/Socials, and/or Junior’s League competition and events organized by the Club’s volunteer Directors and Captains.

  • On a space-available, first-come first-served basis, the ability to invite guests to League competitions/events at the discretion of the Men’s, Ladies’, and Junior’s Captains. There is also a special League Guest Rate that a member can extend to up to 3 guest(s) playing with them.

[NOTE: Effective 2026, there is a limit of 2 plays per season for any 1 individual guest in Ladies'/Men's Leagues plus 2 more in Mixed Club Events – no matter what member or combination of members may invite them. This protects the value of membership for those who have joined.]

  • Participation in Inter-Club competitions as a member of the BSGC Team playing both at the Banff home course and away at such clubs/courses as: Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club, Stewart Creek Golf Club, Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club, and Canmore Golf Club. There is no charge for green fees for these events based upon a reciprocal arrangement, and the fees for participation are for the costs of hosting your playing opponent’s dinner and prizing at BSGC.

  • Participation in Club-arranged League Dinners and Prizing for Competitions and Tournaments.

  • Gold Membership in Golf Canada and support for your maintenance of your official Handicap.

  • Attendance at the Club’s Annual Banquet and season-closing Golf Event.

  • Special pricing arrangement for use of power/pull carts, club rentals, storage and other services provided by Fairmont.

  • 30% Discount on food and beverage at all Fairmont Banff Springs restaurants including the Clubhouse, Waldhaus, and main hotel restaurants throughout the calendar year.

  • 20% discount on “soft goods” in the Fairmont Banff Springs Pro Shop.

  • Hole-In-One Celebration Insurance – The BSGC self-insures members for up to $250 who hit a Hole-in-One on the Banff Springs Golf Course duly witnessed by at least one other adult player.

[Members are encouraged to celebrate their special moment with their group at the Club House, but can choose to go to any food and beverage establishment of their choosing. The player must have at least one witness and the celebration must take place on the same day as the hole-in-one. To be reimbursed up to $250 by the club, please provide a receipt to secretary-treasurer@banffspringsgolfclub.com  . All members who get a Hole-In-One will also be recognized with their name and date on one of the commemorative plaques located in the Club House. Also, don’t forget to report your hole-in-one to the Pro-shop and collect a commemorative flag! Be sure to take a picture and send it to your Division Captain asap for further recognition.]

  • Other special opportunities offered from time to time. (I.e. BSGC Team-Member Shirts, Fairmont Pro Shop Member Purchase Coupons.)

General Criteria for Membership Application

Adult: Available to adults nineteen (19) years and older, who meet the residency requirements identified in the club by-laws.

Intermediate: Available to up to ten (10) graduates of the local junior program, aged 19-25 and who are actively registered into a post-secondary education program.

Junior: Eligibility for junior membership is limited to those persons who have reached the full age of eight within the calendar year but not the full age of nineteen years, who meet the residency requirements for active members. The number of active Junior members is up to the discretion of Fairmont.

Residency requirement: All members must reside in Banff National Park or in the communities from Banff National Park to the Bow Valley Provincial Park (AKA – The Bow Valley).

Candidates for membership must be sponsored by 2 Adult Members in good standing with their signatures on the membership application. The committee may contact the sponsoring members for further insight on their nominee’s candidacy.

Simply meeting the above minimum requirements does not guarantee membership. Acceptance will also be conditional on the BSGC member number capacity availability, as determined by the Board.

Candidates must submit their application on the appropriate form, and within the application window of January 1 to April 1 each year. Submissions should be sent to: bsgcvicepreseident@gmail.com

Q - Is there a Tunnel 9-hole Course-only Membership available?

A – As of 2026 there is no longer Club membership for individuals wanting to play only the Tunnel 9 Course. Fairmont may offer a Tunnel-only Green Fee Pass to members of the Banff Community, but such passholders are not members of the Club.

Q – Is there a Tunnel 9 + Stanley Access Green Fee Pass available to community members?

A – No. The only way to get Stanley 18-hole course and Tunnel 9-hole course access is through becoming a member of BSGC.

Q – Can I Join the Club Mid-Season?

A – No. New member applications are accepted only in the window of January 1 – April 1 each year. Then, based upon space availability, new memberships will be conferred by April 15 in advance of the Club’s Annual AGM in late April, and May 1st Season start.

Q – What Expectations are There for New Members?

A – All new members approved will be expected to attend a New Members Briefing session before they can start to play the course. Attendance at this New Members Briefing is Mandatory and you new Membership Cards will be distributed at this Briefing meeting. New members should also read the BSGC Policies and Information Handbook. You are expected to abide by the policies and rules therein.
