Limits of Play
Members may also invite a guest or two to play in a Club Event such as Men’s Night, Ladies Day or Mixed Event. There is a special Club Event Member-Guest Rate available as outlined in the Member Policies and Information Handbook.
There is a limit of 2 plays per season for any 1 individual guest in Ladies'/Men's Leagues plus 2 more in Mixed Club Events above.
Permission to invite/include a member-guest in a Club Event is at the discretion of the Captain for that event.
Directions to Course & Arrival Procedures
The Address of The Banff Springs Golf Course is 405 Spray Avenue, Banff – but that is the address of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. The Golf Course Clubhouse and Pro Shop and parking lot is actually on Golf Course Road, Banff.
As you arrive into Banff, proceed from either of the 2 exits off the Trans Canada Highway South and cross-over the Banff Avenue bridge over the Bow River.
Once across the bridge, turn Left at the 3-way intersection lights onto Spray Avenue and keep in the Left lane, proceeding through the second stop light, and past the Chinese Food restaurant.
Continue on Spray Avenue to the next set of Lights at Bow Falls Avenue/Rundle Avenue. Follow the signage, and turn Left at these lights, proceeding down the windy road.
Continue on Bow Falls Avenue, go past the Bow Falls parking lot until you reach another 3-way intersection at the bridge over the Spray River.
At the Stop Sign turn Left, go across the bridge and stay on the windy road until your reach the clubhouse on your Left.
Check-in at the welcome kiosk with your Tee-time and Member-sponsor information.
Be sure to park carefully, and within the parking space lines Please!
Ideally you should arrive at the same time as your member-sponsor who will assist you in unloading your clubs, finding a pull cart or power cart, and checking-in and paying at the Pro Shop. Your member-sponsor can also help you find your way to food and beverage, practice facilities and the First Tee of whichever course you are booked on.
Dress Code **
The common goal of both The Club and Fairmont is to have a dress code that aligns with our standards for luxury and excellence, while allowing for comfort and style that is appropriate to the game of golf. This dress code applies to players, caddies and/or those riding along.
Clothing attire allowed:
Collared, sleeveless and mock-neck olf shirts as well as golf attire sold at the Pro Shop.
Hoodies with logos must be tasteful
Sweaters, jackets, and rain gear that again have tasteful design and logos
Soft-spikes golf shoes and running shoes. Shoes must be worn at all times.
Clothing attire NOT allowed:
Denim of any type or colour
Clothing that is ripped or torn
Inappropriate logos or language
T-shirts, tank-tops, halter-tops, sweat/track pants
The final interpretation of what is acceptable rests with the Fairmont staff.
Pace of Play **
Pace of Play on regular tee-times but especially Club Events is particularly important to maintain! We aspire to play the Stanley 18 course in 4hrs and 15mins. Those out front (i.e. an early tee time of the day) or during a Club Event need to set a good pace. On Shotgun nights (and indeed every night) everyone should keep up with the group ahead of you. We have asked Fairmont Marshalls to actively marshal pace of play for Club events. Pursuant to Golf Canada Rule 6.7, Failure to maintain pace of play may result in penalty or 3-step disciplinary action.
