Juniors Program
Welcome
To the BSGC – Fairmont Juniors Program. A few years ago, the Club contracted Fairmont to run our program for Juniors. This program includes lessons targeted at youth 12 and under, and another series of skills challenges-lessons for those 13+. In addition to weekly lessons on Sunday afternoons, a few playing tournaments are also organized.
Juniors and their parents will need to book tee times after lessons on Sundays or other days of the week. Juniors 12 and under must play with an adult. Juniors 13+ may play on their own as approved by the Fairmont Professionals. A limited number of young people may be accredited as Stanley Juniors, and allowed to play on the Stanley 18 course. Once accredited, they can pay additional green fees to play on both Stanley & Tunnel courses.

Parent & Junior Expectations
To create a positive, productive environment for all players, we have clear expectations for both juniors and parents. This program is designed to be fun, but it also requires focus, respect, and engagement from everyone involved.
For Juniors:
Players are expected to listen during instruction, stay engaged throughout the session, and show respect to coaches and fellow participants. Disruptive behavior, lack of attention, or disengagement takes away from the experience for others and will be addressed. Effort and attitude are just as important as performance.
For Parents:
Your support in reinforcing these expectations is essential. Please take a moment before each session to remind your junior of the standard: be respectful, listen, stay involved, and give your best effort.
The most effective development environments are those where:
Adults emphasize attitude, effort, and learning over results
Players are encouraged to take ownership of their behavior and experience
Clear boundaries are set so all participants can learn without distraction
During sessions, we ask that parents allow coaches to lead and give players the space to learn, respond, and grow independently. If behavior expectations are not met, we will step in to ensure the group environment remains positive and focused.
Juniors are expected to arrive ready to listen, stay engaged, and show respect at all times — and we ask parents to reinforce these expectations before each session so we can maintain a focused, positive environment for everyone.
Junior Tunnel Status vs Stanley Status
“Tunnel Juniors” are 8-12 years old. Once they reach age 13 – 18, they may request to become a “Stanley Junior”. These requests will be reviewed by Fairmont golf staff who will make this determination. Determination will be based upon preparedness to play without supervision and ability to maintain the etiquette and pace of play for the game on the Stanley Thompson course. There is an increased green fee for Stanley Juniors. Parents of Juniors are always responsible for the conduct and safety of their children when at the Course.
Tunnel Juniors and children twelve years of age and under are not permitted at the practice facility or on the course unless accompanied by an adult or taking instruction with a golf professional. Up to four junior players in a group can be accompanied by a non-playing adult. Alternatively:
A non-member adult can play the Tunnel course while accompanying up to 3 Junior players for $40.00 + GST green fee.
A non-member playing with three juniors on Stanley – are 50% off (use member guest rates).
The non-member junior rate on Tunnel and Stanley are 50% off (same as member guest rate)
